Lake Barlineckie, with its ideal sailing conditions, provided the perfect arena for the regatta of the 'Polish Women's Championship in the Omega Standard Class'. The sunny aura and the right wind were conducive to competition at the highest level, which further raised the rank of the competition.
This year's championship was filled with fierce rivalry and exciting moments. Each of the races was a battle for seconds and metres, where the smallest mistake could have decided the final result. Both spectators and competitors could feel the true spirit of the sport of sailing, where determination, skill and a bit of luck determined success.
It was also the debut start for the women's crew in the colours of Robert's Port Hotel. Their commitment, passion and level of professionalism deserve exceptional recognition. Although this was their first competition in these colours, their efforts yielded excellent results.
Despite their determined attitude and excellent competition, our representatives placed in an honourable second place, winning the title of Polish vice-champions. The whole competition was tense, with a score of 15 points each - both champions and vice-champions. The final places and the championship title were awarded on the basis of the number of races won, and the Yacht Club Rewa crew proved marginally better in this category.
The loss was disappointing for our girls, but they are pleased and proud to have achieved second place and to have won the title of Polish vice-champions in the Omega Standard class.
Mr Robert Sliwinski, owner of Robert's Port Hotel, is full of pride and appreciation for his crew. "The team showed incredible fighting spirit and professionalism," he says. "I am very proud of our crew's achievements and congratulate our girls on this honourable title of Polish vice-champions. This was their first start, but I can already see great potential for the future. I am looking forward to the next sailing season and hope for more successes like this."
This attitude and level of commitment from the Robert's Port Hotel women's crew shows that they are ready for new challenges and further achievements in the sailing world. We feel that next season will bring even more excitement and victories and our crew will once again provide us with many reasons to be proud.
